Tailings Pond Protest

A grassroots group of individuals staged a protest at the Alberta Legislature on June 3, 2008, to protest the oil companies and their disregard for the environment. We unleashed hundreds of plastic ducks into the wading pond, sang, and addressed the media.

Nice job guys. I find it a bit disheartening that first nations communities' health has been allowed to suffer gravely for years, likely as a result of these industries, yet our gov't and the media pay little attention to that tragedy. But some poisoned dead ducks: now that is news.

By no means am I attempting to denigrate your efforts here, at least you are helping to bring attention to what could be a provincial disaster.
