Model Windmills built by Artist Victor Edward Leong

Some Windmills not featured have even been installed in some SandCastles...They are unpowered except turned by the wind itself and many actually had no ball bearing parts so they often made interesting creaking noises, many actually wore out after a year or more so windmill blades and axles were often replaced....The hot humid florida weather also was a perfect testing ground to battle harden my experience in the endurance of this medium....They were never brought indoors even during full on tropical storms!

Sorry I Have no Storm Footage but it is fun to see out the window something getting Hell!
Every Windmill was repaired or replaced, I do not sell them.- at least, not yet!

Believe it or not , these too also get there share of vandals!....Occationally one would either go missing or had been damaged by a local brat....I actually do go out on patrol in my own nieghbor hood to keep in touch with my neighbors who all may have one spinning away on there lawn or balcony...I do not sell them...Its something I just like to see as a machine sculpture or mobile.

I am currentlly repairing another old windmill...the wind was relentless!

  • @sanddragon99 They're real works of art! I bet some of your neighbours would've loved to have something like that.

  • none of these windmills are kits!... they are not even built to any scale!....they are just whimsical wind powered sculptures that creek in the wind generating only happieness!

  • @raindog951 I did a Generator once and it used only a bicycle 6 volt tire generator for a hub but I really wanted to focus on building just a free spinning ornamental type of windmill...these wooden structures not only have to battle the elements but I made many without any ball bearing parts at all!

They woukld creek in the wind and ring little bells and wind chimes with greased wooden axles....only my bigger ones get ball bearings!

  • Very cool models. Could you rig these up to charge your Mobile batteries etc?
