Aerosmith Sturgis Buffalo Chip 8 5 2009 Love in an Elevator.. Steven Tyler falling

Aerosmith - Love in an Elevator - Sturgis, SD Aug 5, 2009. First there was rain and lightning. Then a fuse blew on the sound system.. Steven Tyler tried to entertain the crowd by dancing on the catwalk, which was very narrow. 8 feet wide, he slipped or mis-stepped and fell into the crowd... and contrary to comments made, this could very well have happened to a 25 year old entertainer.. Although I filmed this with a cheaper camera, and was battling a large TALL crowd, I managed to zoom in and show the moment of the fall.. Why did I post? to show critics that it could have happened to anyone.. Mr. Tyler was airlifted to Rapid City regional hospital from the Sturgis airport with apparent, head, neck and shoulder injuries. Obvious disappointment by the tens of thousands in the crowd, but hopefully he will be back at next years Sturgis Bike Rally!

There was a barricade around the catwalk. He landed on his shoulder, there wasn't anyone under him.

Thanks Doug He was the guy from buffalo chip that broke his fall. Stephen would have broke his neck for sure. I was there !!!!!

I was staying at the chip, so I didn't feel like it was a total waste; however, the show ended maybe a quarter to a third of the way into it. For the chip not to do anything was a poor decision. They are lucky they didn't have a riot on their hands.
