  • Labas.

  • Hello! Thanks for putting these up. I'm Indian but love to explore different cuisines. I was wondering what sort of meat you used. Minced pork/lamb/beef?

  • @lwxcmla

hi! Thank you for watching. Traditionally minced pork is used. However it does not matter what kind of meat you use. Pork is used because it is the most common meat in Lithuania. If you dont eat pork try beef or lamb. Or if you are vegetarian try mushrooms or anything else. However to my opinion the meaty ones are the best.

  • God, do I miss eating these. >< They were my favourite things about parties at my Great Aunt Saule's house.

  • @WonderBebs

Homemade cepelinai are the best :)

  • @metalinisvyras I was travelling along your beautiful country last week, and we've missed this dish so much that I've done today following your steps... It was a great surprise for all. Thank you very much from Spain.

  • kaip sauniai parodytas lietuviskas maistas, musu virtuve tokia plati ir maistas skanus :) saunus filmukas :)

  • very nice and tasty food...a bit on unhealthy side though LOL. But we lithuanians don't mind to consume fats in big amounts anyway

  • @hglundahl man patinka labai

  • Reminds me of the Kroppkakor of Småland in Sweden. Part of the region seems to have been peopled by Herulians turning back from plunder, and Herulian seem to have spoken also a Lithuanian or Latvian dialect.

We have onions with the pork mince, and we serve the kroppkakor with melted butter.
