  • Radio in America should play this early

stuff from U2. It's raw but the guitar riffs, which later became the signature sound of the band are incredible.

  • No, the studio version is the best one. It's sad Martin Hannett didn't produced more of their singles-albums.

  • these are the tunes that matter when u talk about U2,like i will follow, celebration, party girl, gloria, what started people following em ,still a great sound, better than alot of there new stuff, buts thats just my opinion.

  • @djh29971 what can you expect - they were just turning 20 at the time. and the punk and post punk formula was pretty simple, so they merely went along with it at the beginning. but they knew they needed to grow out of it and did, starting with "War". Listen to Altered Images - "I Could Be Happy" could easily be an early U2 song.

  • Havia muitas pessoas (Have very peoples).Não foi neste(this) show que U2 abriu(open) para The Police ?

  • U2 were obviously influenced by Joy Division and having Hannett around made things even more obvious. One of the criticisms of the band is that they sound too much like their influences, followers rather than leaders, and this is a classic example, yet it is a very good track! Had Hannett kept his act together, U2 would of made much better records in the early 1980's, but they wouldn't of sold as many. So you pay your money and you takes your choice...

  • como se nota el sonido Martin Hannett y la influencia de joy Division. Aún se podía soportar la voz de Bono, alias el grajo.

  • Legendary stuff, before the rot set in after the classic, War...

  • LOVE the song :D HATE bonos dancing moves in the beginning XD

  • This is live at Leixlip Castle, July 1980, not 1981 as it says on the video. And, among some U2 collectors, the live audio is available, I used to have it. It's a little rough.

  • @edwardcullen456388 - Yes, it is U2. This is the original studio demo.

  • I love the title: "OFFICIAL video"

    And the description:

    "UNOFFICIAL music video"
