  • One of the leading imams of Makkah is leading the Eid ul Azha prayer..

  • @rotomi89 about praying to God :). this prayer is specifically for Eid, which is like christmas for christians. in this day muslims sacrifice an animal for God.

in this prayer the Imam recites 3 chapters in the Quran. al faithah (chapter 1 in the Quran) then Al-Ala (chapter 87) then he gets down with the muslims following him and make some supplications to God, then when he gets up again he recite th fatihah again following it Al-Ghashiyah (chapter 88)

check the quran here quranexplorer. com

  • What´s the prayer about? I would rlly like to know :)

  • So in the 1st Rak`ah of Eid Prayer, there are a total of 8 Takbeeraat [i.e. sayings of "Allaahu Akbar"!] ... first, the opening Takbeer (Allahu Akbar), i.e. the Takbeerat-ul-Ihraam --- followed by 7 sunnah Takbeers.

In the 2nd rak`ah (unit of prayer), after saying the takbeer & rising up from the prostration & standing straight -- you say an additional 5 Takbeers! :)
