  • i cant see chavs moving into an eco town, so i think were good on that front....

the presence of smug, eco-friendly people might force the existing chavs to move out.

But then we have a situation or our hands, do we want LOTS of smug eco-friendly annoying people, or the current population of chavs.

To be honest, id rather be verbally insulted than stabbed

  • @spikeyredcactus Well I am glad to say that this time the government did listen to public opinion and we won the right to keep the farm land which I assume later generations will be gretful for when they want something to eat! There is loads of land needing redevelopment all over the UK, far better to use this than rip up farm land and countryside.

  • quote: its fortunate for them that we never thought so selfishly...that " them " includes you so pull down your house and get out of my village nimby.

  • TROLL ALERT TROLL ALERT

    Be off with you bellend

  • That is a very silly view point indeed.

Good job you moved away then.

This is a far bigger scheme than you have ever seen and its to their credit is people see it for what it is and stand up and fight against it.

Your motivation seems to be simple revenge for an injury you suffered yet did nothing to oppose in the past!

  • I lived in Yapton for over 30 years and was horrified by this plan - enough damage has ben done to the village already. Where are they proposing to build - the airfield? Ridiculous in the extreme, where is the infrastructure? Although I live elsewhere now I would happily give my support - good luck!

  • Thanks for the support.

You ask where! from Climping to Ford and all the fields you can see! dreadful

  • @mikesndbs true, i didnt realise it had been turned down though" thats good. It would have been so busy around here. The government was complaining that they have to ship more food from abroad and that we should buy local food, this is why we cant! this is why its too expensive! should be ok now tho

  • i was born in yapton 50 years ago and have seen my village treble in size all without a word of protest. the original yaptoners accepted that people need homes and so hundreds of new builds were added, but how different to the originals the newcomers are proving to be with there " not in my back yard " attitude. its fortunate for them that we never thought so selfishly so i say build it and let the newcomers experiance what they so casually inflicted on us.

  • I am not entirely sure of your view point here?

You seem to be saying that the area is already well used! how am I distorting the facts about that? I agree with you it is already in use and we don't need it crushed under a concrete nightmare that would never be removed.

The Eco town is a distortion of the facts in itself! Its not needed, wanted or viable so it better not happen.
