Sondre Bratland sings Stille Natt. A prayer for peace. CAUTION: Some images are graphic and may disturb. Sondre Bratland is a Norwegian singer. His album, Rosa Fra Betlehem, is the most beautiful and moving Christmas-related album I have ever heard. It was recorded in the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, with accompaniment from Knut Reiersrud, Iver Kleive and Paolo Vinaccia. and features the voices of the Palestinian Boys Choir. You can find Rosa Fra Betlehem at http://www.cdroots.com/ where you may also listen to samples from a few other tracks. I recommend this album both for its music and its incredible sonic presence.

Thanks for posting! "Rosa frå Betlehem" is THE christmas album. This "Silent Night" version is the first track on the CD, and I always shiver when I start it. The soft, smooth intro, crescending at 0:50 is just genius. The musicians on this recording is absolutely among the finest in Europe. Too bad so few foreign listeners will understand the Norwegian lyrics... This album IS christmas.
