In May 1987, Muppet master, Jim Henson conducted an international workshop in Puppetry for Film and Television in Charleville-Mezieres, France. This short film is one of five student films recorded during that incredible course.

  • I have adored Jim Henson my entire life. His creations have brought so much happiness and joy to countless people.

  • I do believe that Mr Henson held so much of his vision together and his departure from our world,it cast everyone to the wind, at least so many people have been inspired by his work and his view of the world; we all continue to echo something truly wonderful, but I think also he would be the first to say that this positive view of the world that his creatures conveyed wasn't just something he invented,he would have thought he only echoed his time, however he understood that spirit more than most.

  • @LadyNekoshema When sung in English it's:

    Are you sleeping,

    Are you sleeping

    Brother John

    Brother John

However when sung in French the lines are in reverse.

    Brother John (Frére Jacques.)

    Brother John (Frére Jacques.)

    Are you sleeping (dome vu)

    Are you sleeping (dome vu)

  • Frére Jacques. [translates as brother john i believe, but i only know it in french so...]

  • Wow, getting a peek at a workshop led by Mr. Henson is a real honor. I just got a puppet for Christmas this year and now I feel inspired to go practice. The only downside is that song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day! Oh well; thanks so much for posting this!

  • What is the name of the song they sing?

  • You can hear a little of Kermit even when he speaks normally. : ) Weird to think he's been gone for nearly twenty years. What a legacy though!

  • So Cool!!!

  • How great. Thank you for posting this.

  • I adore Henson. You are very lucky. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Yes, this is true. And it's very sad that we lost this man.
