On the flip side, my wife has said that the best treatment for her eating disorder was when she moved far away from her nuclear family.
Perhaps, someday, some person much smarter than myself with much better credentials and education will look at the sociology of family in relation to the disease of addiction, what I believe to be the root cause of EDs.

@lesterclaypool1 I agree with you. I've seen people go to these types of places and come back a lot worse. They step up their "game" in terms of their E.D. in order to lose the weight they were forced to game in treatment. They become even more secretive, and as seen in this documentary, so many staff members are unprofessional. It seems as if some of the professionals took pleasure in seeing these women suffer to gain the weight they needed.

hairwise.. the condition of your hair relates to your diet three months ago.. so if they were all at home living really unhealthy lives, it projects to three months ahead.. even if they were eating at renfrew and their hair started to fall out it was nothign to do with their current diet at that point

My wife says that in patient treatment was the most damaging thing to her ED recovery. She said that, like an AA meeting, it just provided her and others with an environment to compare notes on how to further mess their bodies up and she actually got worse because she felt in constant competition with the other patients.
I'd be very wary to send any ED sifferer to an in patient therapy situation.
