I saw this film recently. While I liked it...I have to admit that watching Dana Andrews perform in films of this era can be a little distracting. He was obviously allowed to drink on set and I find myself wondering just how soused he is in a given scene!

Hey Derek - thanks, this was my first attempt at a video essay way back when... compare to the one i'm about to put up for Evil Dead 2 and I guess you can see how it's evolved over the last few months. It didn't occur to me that Andrews was soused during the shoot -- frankly all those 50s actors look a bit like that to me! (just watched a bit of Babes on Broadway on TCM and even Judy Garland sounds like she's on the bottle - and I don't think she was even 20 yet!)
