This sweet baby is my mechanic's car. It's a rarity today but this one is in superb condition; engine, body, interior, everything.

  • Hi, all - Sorry about the shaking quality of the video (I'm definitely an amateur), and thanks for 'fine-tuning' the information on the car! It isn't mine but belongs to our local mechanic. When I saw it, I was so impressed I had to preserve the experience on film!

  • Way ahead of it's time for economy.

  • I like the artdeco grill !!!

  • Nice car you have very very rare today !!!

  • This looks exactly like my dads. 1st car I ever drove!

  • Olá amigo,

Esse foi o meu primeiro carro. Um Henry Jr. 1953. Gostei demais na época

  • Cool car....it had the level of finish and equipment that ALL Henry Js should have had. We had a 51 Henry J leftover retitled as a 52 Vagabond. Sad lack of conveniences, no trunk lid, no oil filter on the 4 cylinder model. :) Jack

  • People often say the Henry J was sold at Sears. Well, that's false... and it's true. The car Sears sold was called the Allstate. But.. the Allstate was a Henry J with all Kaiser badging removed and all Sears automotive parts and a re-designed grill. The Henry J was only sold at Kaiser Frazer dealers and says "Henry J" on it so... yes they're the same and... no they're not! Allstates are very rare. Less than 80 known to exist.

  • Nice video. I just bought a 1953 Allstate in California. I will be restoring it this year. The car is in Arizona now, it's new home. Can't wait to get this project finished. Not that many Allstates left.

  • Hey, thanks for sharing this video. It's shakey, but shows off the car pretty well. The design has held up far better than I ever thought it would. This is a really nice example. I wonder how many are left? Of course, it IS a re-badged Henry J, but none the less for that.
