Call me crazy, but in my opinion, the way this SHOULD be performed is have one spectator shuffle the cards as much a he likes, then you give it one final shuffle. A second spectator calls out any number from 1 - 52. A third spectator calls out any card he chooses. You then count out how many cards spectator 2 called out, turn over the card, and it would be the card the third spectator called out.
