  • Shot at the Regent Theatre, Richmond, NSW - 1982.

It's available on DVD - "Slim Dusty Live"

The DVD features another concert as well...at the Performing Arts Centre, Geelong, Victoria in 1992..

  • I can remember watching Slim's funeral on tv and starting to cry as they brought the coffin out to this with everyone clapping along :( ... even now, it will still reduce me to tears, depending on my mood.

  • Thanks for your comments. I was in Australia for three weeks back in 2001 and just loved the wide open spaces. Uluru was magic. I hope to get back there again in a few years time when I retire for an extended break. I have a first cousin living in Bundaberg in Queensland. I am just starting work here now in Ireland, time just coming up to 8:00 a.m.! Best regards - John

Yes mate, truly the greatest Australian. I was luckily enough to get into the church after flying from Melbourne to Sydney for the sole purpose of attending his funeral. i still have a copy of his funeral service. For a man of 30 I cried like a baby!! An extreme loss to Australia and the Australian way!! Long live his music.

  • This song from the late great Slim RIP is based on a traditional Irish blessing.
