In the Bununs culture, labasbas, or shaman, is the person who solves the problems of the communities or individuals. Different from some other groups, every Bunun member could become labasbas through learning. However, for the Bunun people in Taitung, there is only one shaman remains. Her name is Abus and she resides in Taitungs Haiduan Township. The 84 shaman hopes that someone can take over her job and preserve the unique tradition. Now in the local culture hall, her skills are presented to the people at a special exhibition.
