Great Video!!! Quick Question - What is brand andmodel lathe are you using?
-
I just subscribed to your videos... they are pleasing and educational. I saw you with Carl a while back... that was fun... and, oh, yah...I am a guy!
Your turning of this little box was terrific. I've got to learn how to turn without catching my tools everytime they touch the wood.... you know, leaving huge gouges deep and across the whole piece of wood...........!!!!! (*&&^^%%&^&&*%%$%***(^&^$!!!!!
!!! So, keep up the good work....I look forward to your other videos!!!!! swalker

Thanks for watching. So glad you liked the video. The lathe I have is a laguna 18/47. Runs on 220 current but may be configured for 110. 2HP Variable speed motor with reverse. Outboard turning by sliding the headstock all the way to the right end of the lathe (requires tool rest kit). two speed and torque ranges with belt/pulley changes. For more information go to "Laguna tools" website and download the 18/47 manual. BTW Grizzly sells the same lathe for the same price with the Grizzly logo.

@customcutting213 Hey Man, sorry about the delay in getting back to you about lathe tools. I started with—an 1/8th in. Parting Tool—a 3/4 in. Roughing Gouge—a 3/8 in. Spindle Gouge—a 3/4 in. Skew Chisel—a 1/2 in. Bowl Gouge—a 1/2 in. Round-Nose Scraper—a 3/4 Box Tool. This makes (in my opinion) an excellent set. By the time you are proficient with these tools you will already know what you want next.

Yo Guy, I had to add another post the changes you made to the box top were a great improvment to the overall design of the jar (box) whatever you call it BTW did you ever convert that cupboard under you tablesaw to slideing tray shalves just wondering about it thought you might check out the draw slides at Grizzly the price and quality can't be beat and the service is top notch (in my homble opion) thanks again for the great videos you do I have learned some real good stuff fom ya Frank

@kipperdude1 Well, I move kind of slow these days, but I am making progress. I recently got the wood for it. now I need to get be a good set of full extension drawer glides. There are a lot of days I cant do anything. Car accident, two back surgeries, bad neck injury (no surgeon will operate for fear of paralysis), head injury (30 days in the hospital with no memory). This all happened about three years ago, and I still can't be on my feet more than approximately 2 hours at-a-time.
