  • I just transplanted mine into containers two days ago but some of the leaves are starting to turn a reddish color. Is that normal? Thanks.

  • @renegadetrainer Most often the reddish leaves would mean the PH is too high. So the first thing that I would recommend is a PH test. It also could be a reaction to transplant. This might be the case if the temperature dropped right after the transplant. In the case of PH, soil sulphur will help in the long run, a little feather meal could help to adjust the PH quickly in the short term. Hope that helps.

  • @DaveWilsonTrees Thanks for the reply! I did do a pH test and got a reading of 6.0 so obviously it needs to come down. I didnt use acid potting mix so maybe thats why. Would blood or bone meal do the trick as well? If so, how much per plant? Thanks!

  • @renegadetrainer I dont find that they work as quickly as feather meal, They are more for stabilizing the PH over the long term.

  • what about bare root blueberry plant's, what do I do about those?

  • @nettie0930 You can treat them the same, just containerize them.

  • If you plant them in the ground, put in 2 or 3 shovels of concrete sand at the bottom of the hole with the peat moss and compost. They come alive with a fast draining acidic soil.

  • @tbaarr1 Works for me.

  • A handful of blueberries a day, keeps the doctors away!

  • do used coffee grounds help blueberry plants. do they help creste an acid based aidfor lowering ph

  • what acid based fertilizer do you use monthly on your blueberries in containers? If I can't find an acidic potting soil base, which organic fertilizer could I increase to lower the pH. Thanks

  • What brand of ph meter do you use? All the ones that I see on Amazon have received poor customer ratings.

  • My hero...;)

  • Very informative video. It is good to know that I can transplant my blueberries in the spring, I thought you had to do it in the fall. I need to move them closer to the house to keep the deer and raccoons away.

  • Ah they do love their acid soil. Good tips , nice one:)

  • How can i add the organic mix if i have already potted them? Should i repot them?
