Soprano Choir Practice: "Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabelle" , "Un flambeau, Jeannette, Isabelle", is a French Christmas carol. It was first published in 1553 in French, and was translated into English in the 18th century. To honor the Christ Child, there is a tradition of children singing the carol, dressed as shepherds, carrying candles to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. As in the carol, all visitors to the crèche should keep their voices down so the newborn can enjoy his dreams.
