Yellow-eyed penguins are the most endangered penguin species on earth. They can only be seen on the coast of New Zealand. This short documentation shows them in their natural environment, filmed on the Otago Peninsula at the Penguin Place, an important reserve.

I am sorry this video does not include any sound. The only way to have sound on the blue screens is by including music, and since this is the very first video I've ever made, I did not want to make a big mess with copyright inquiries.

  • Hey hello thanks for your reaction on my movie of the:chased yellow eyed penguin! by who??

You made a nice movie to, my compliments. And it looks you came pretty close to them to, lol.

Funny little creatures are they. I have more video's in my collection, maybe i put them online one day.

Thanks for watching my movie and your comment

  • Yes that's true, we definitely were too close to the one shown in the film. It was filmed in the Penguin reserve on the Otago Peninsula, and the penguin came walking up the only walkway. We all had to hold our breath, be extremely silent while we were slowly walking past him. He was extremely scared. Our guide then told us that he was sick because he wasn't fat enough for the winter, and so he was picked up and taken to the Penguin hospital as shown at about 1:20 in the film.

  • I was wondering if I could put this video on my cause for yellow eyed penguins on facebook. reply to lotus_blount1@yahoo.com

  • Good effort. Well explained but really needs audio. Natural sounds, narration or just music would add interest.

  • Aww, what a cute video! I remember seeing these little ones when I went to New Zealand. They really are adorable :)

Such a shame that they're endangered, but most species are these days... so sad.
