  • @kcbasscadet actually I know my running technique is all jacked up, it would probably explain why I do have shin splint problems. This was the whole reason I switched away from traditional running shoes. I figure it's worth switching up to see if it helps.

  • All yall shut the fuck up with these "running techniques" and just RUN!! Like like Nike!! JUST DO IT!!!!

  • or are they

  • those aren't even asics.

  • the only solution to making yourself better is by RUNNING MORE. and really people? you're not supposed to heel strike? personally, I think that this barefoot running is a gimmick. I have ran for 10 years now, and know that the shoes wont do the running for you. So this wont help you in any way. So before risking injury, go to a specialty running store, where your can get fitted for the right pair of shoes, and I guarantee, that they will be so much more comfortable than what is in this video.

  • They should of chose a better pair of asics like the GT-2160 or something

  • @Heffman91 Then how are you supposed to run?

  • Your best steps are in socks, but why are you still heel striking, that must hurt. i have a pair of bass dress shoes that I can run in like a champ. No shin splints or anything, its not the arrow its the warrior. I have run in Asics since high school cross country, and Nike's were looked at as the devil shoe.

  • okay. first of all, lean forward more when you run. and ass you run, try not to let your heel touch the ground. don't tiptoe, but run on the balls of your feet. this should help alot with your shin splints. it's not necessarily the shoe, it's the runner and your form. fix that and you can run in whatever running shoes you like. i use Nike Free Run+ just because it strengthens you legs more (i run track) and its not as demanding as actually running barefoot. but yeah, you gotta work on your form.

  • @Heffman91

That is what the most commercially available running shoes manufacturers do - make more cushion in heel area encouraging you to run with heel strike first!

  • @wookiegamemaster Personally I find that he is not heel striking immensely when he is nearly barefoot. It tends to look more like a midfoot strike. There is some heel contact, that I can agree with, but it's not full on heel striking. Every runner starts somewhere on their transition to proper footstrike. If you find something wrong with his footstrike, try to give the runner pointers, instead of thoughtlessly criticizing his form.
