@katzerw Amen brother. We can only hope someone (being a higher-up) realizes the mistke that the Air Force made by moving us here. It's a shame that they took a proven elite combat hardened unit and stuck them in a toilet bowl. Just goes to show that even high ranking Air Force officials can make crappy calls/decisions.

Its terrible that with all the new money being poured into the community Clovis only puts up things like "storm the dorms" or "cannon appreciation day" Instead of spending some of the millions made over the past 2 years on ....i dont know...fixing their roads, putting up stop signs at 4 ways, putting more cops on the road, or fighting for new commerce to move in...they spend 1K here or there as their "thanks!" yeah, parties, that'll make us happy.

Cant help people who dont want to be helped. The leaders in this town arent going to do anything for the people who give them their income unless they benefit from it personally. I buy gas,food,beer,clothes on base and not give this town a dime other then the shitty place i'm renting for way too much and thats what I will continue to do untill things change. Remember,Its all about the mighty dollar.

@flyinj42 Thats really, really nice of you that you do those things, but that really doesn't help in making clovis better. Your basically doing what everyone else is doing/has been doing. Most people of Clovis are really really nice and our quarrel isn't with the people.  It's the whole town not wanting to progress/get better. We need to get rid of certain people that hold the town back, otherwise, it will continue to be a stinkfest...

@jetmech409 well I do what I can. I keep my house clean. I help whoever is in need. I support the local sports teams. Im involved with my family. I find things to do. It's actually pretty great here for me. I know personally I haven't done much to better the community but i'm happy with how things are. I've been to many cool places. But this is home.

Clovis isnt a bad place. its just incredably boring. and not for the lack of trying to get entertainment in. what is happening. and im quoting someone that is on the shifty fifty.. "we are trying to keep Clovis small". what they do not understand is its actually hurting Clovis. if it wasnt for family being here i would have left along time ago.. Its like this black hole. you keep getting sucked back in. most of my friends have left because of how boring this place is

I can understand hometown pride. I speak to some civilians on occasion and they are all trying to leave this place from what they tell me. I think they are only here because, like me, they are stuck. Yeah, they could leave here and be jobless, but who really wants to be unemployed in todays economy? New airmen are getting into the wrong scene here because there's nothing to do, and its just a shame. I thought by now, clovis would have gotten better.

@jetmech409 I'm not picking on you or the military. There are plenty of civilians that cry and complain about living here. And unlike you they are here because it's their choice. They won't get off their asses and move. Instead they complain hoping someone else will hear their cries and do something for them. But when you enlisted you took that chance to be here. And so you are. Just try to enjoy it. It's not that bad.

@jetmech409 Well if it was on the BRAC list because of corrupt individuals then who do you blame for having your squad here? Surely not the people of Clovis? And what have you done to improve the quality of life around here? It is what is is and I love my town. But people need to stop complaining and do something about it. Problems don't fix themselves. You have been here for 4 years and what have you done??
