Synopsis: MAAYAN IS A FISHERMAN WHO LIVES IN A VILLAGE ON THE SOUTH COAST OF INDIA AFFECTED BY 2004 TSUNAMI ROOTED IN THE HINDU TRADITION. HE LIVES ASSUMING THE DECISIONS OF HIS MOTHER BUT AFTER HER DEATH MAAYAN REBELS AND DARES TO CHALLENGE CENTURIES OLD CUSTOMS WITH TRAGIC CONSEQUENCES.

MAAYAN ES UN PESCADOR QUE VIVE EN UN PUEBLO EN LA COSTA DEL SUR DE LA INDIA DRAMATICAMENTE AFECTADO POR EL TSUNAMI DEL 2004 Y ARRAIGADO EN LAS TRADICIONES HINDUES. VIVE ASUMIENDO LOS DICTAMENES DE SU MADRE PERO TRAS LA MUERTE DE ESTA, SE REBELA DESOBEDECIENDO LAS COSTUMBRES A SEGUIR CON TRAGICAS CONSECUENCIAS.

This indepedent and low-budget film shot in South India in a documentary style capturing the rich culture of Tamil Nadu and its traditions, made Alfredo de Braganza to become the first Spanish person to make a feature film in India, on celluloid (16MM) and native language (Tamil).

"Maayan el pescador" pelicula independiente, de bajo presupuesto, rodada en el sur de la India, en las zonas afectadas por el Tsunami del 2004, captando las ricas tradiciones y cultura de Tamil Nadu, convirtió a Alfredo de Braganza en el primer español en realizar un largometraje de ficción en la India, en celuloide (16MM) e idioma autóctono (Tamil).
