according to scriptures goddess is as peaceful as a flower petal and as violent as a storm. her most peaceful incarnation is of goddess Gauri she is white in colour because she is pure and peace giving. Durga's colour is red because she is a violent power against evil and Kali is the extreme incarnation of her anger because when she is on her extremest anger her blood starts burning and her skin turns black... but she is violent only for evil not for good...
