Here is the engine bay of my LS1 swaped E36. I thought it might be easier to see some of the clearances using video instead of stills

  • can you please give me info on what tranny you used, i am a bmw nut that knows nothing about engine swapping

  • The trans (t-56 6speed) is from the same car as the motor (2002 camaro SS)

  • I don't have a lot of pre swap data. But I did G-tech it and 0-60 for the 2.5L with the auto was around 10sec. Same G-tech same road with the LS1 with 6 speed and going easy on the drivetrain revealed a 0-60 of 4.5sec. So basically it's not even the same car.

  • was the steering column a big issue in the swap? also engine/trans mount, did you have to cut and weld alot?

  • car complete and pictures will be posted tommorrow . rh drive main problem(as im sure u could imagine, steering joint, headers !) sorted now thanks to my buddy who has a habit of making just about anything look easy! no 2 conversion (conv m3 evo ukspec)almost also complete . pictures dont lie,so visit 36vettes in a day or so ! respect to u! more so if u did it yourself , cheers
