Join NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., in celebrating Black History Month. Each week in February, a different African-American employee from GSFC will be featured. In the opening week, two will be featured. The employees will talk about their careers, career paths and, in some cases, obstacles and challenges they have faced.

I heard a story on NPR this morning about President Obama being a true black role model for young black men. It really pissed me off to know that they made no mention of the Black Astronauts and others who have worked in Science and Engineering for decades. What about them?

NASA is in my view, an organization for all mankind, not just Blacks or Whites.

the world leading astrophsycist is black and most of nasa is black. white ppl and their whitewashing of things truth is always har to escape once known. and as the white world dies out white ppl will only get angrier and more confused because their world of lies and evil is crumbling. bye bye america and bye bye europe

@packoftwenty actually white ppl are always moving into all non-white places the only place that was all white was europe and then europeans began to move to other places because europe sucked. white ppl still go all around the world to live. most man-mad things were not created by whites that is funny (well guns and bombs were). but it is understandable that as a white person u have to speak badly about black pppl and non0-white ppl because ur the devil and u are jealous.

I also wonder why millions of blacks are so desperate to live around whites, and then spend all their time screaming "Racist" at us all... Are we supposed to BENEFIT from this or something?

Why don't blacks want to live in their own, all black countries? Most white people want to live in all white countries.

White men have invented 99% of just about everything man made... What do blacks offer the world?

black history is a discriminary term...its racist in its name and its ideas....we are all humans and should be treated eqaully.........affrimative action is a racist law and is in reality legalized discrimination..

That is a good idea, but the US Armed Forces doesn't have it either. why? Is it because white people are spoken about all throughout the year? The answer is yes. Just look at School House Rock, what about African American inventors who aren't mentioned when it came to that video? You know, such as air-conditioning or even the traffic light and what about the gas mask just to name a few. Maybe that cartoon can be redone as well.

Actually one of my GG grand parents is white, and you know what, I'm sure if you saw me you will still consider me black.

Didn't your schooling teach you anything about the conventional history? You must of learned about the 50's and 60's and the society then.

With such a curious mind, maybe you should just read more. The internet is great, but go find some books on such subjects.

It just seems a touch odd. I think it rather backward to have an '(insert skin colour) history month.

Maybe we need a 'white history month', yellow, red, mixed yellow-red, mixed brown-white history months. All the shades of humanity.

Who does 'black' incorporate? Are Australian aboriginals included? What degree of skin color do you have to have to qualify as a member of the black group? What happens if one of your parents are white, or one of your great great grandparents? Are you still included as 'black'?

Can you reply back with what shade of colour one must posses to qualify as black? I am genuinely curios now.

If it's an african american history, then it's incorrect to call 'black history'.
