The demos from 1984. These basically are the first "grunge" songs.

Got to http://lamestainnorthwest.blogspot.com/ to get early "grunge" mp3s!

(Also includes an early demo of Pearl Jam's "Alive")

  • is there anyway you could repost the zip of all the Green River demos? the links are expired and I can't find them anywhere...

  • @xThucydides I think I have them in my MediaFire link. I'll PM you it.

  • Melvins rendition is infinetly superior.

  • @ecsesspool Think so? I like both the punk sound of this, and the sludge metal sound of theirs. I really can't choose.

  • according to the liner notes to the Gluey Porch treatments the pearl jam guy didn't like playing the "same riff over and over" and green river "threw the song away" ....check out the Melvins version

  • @MMZen I know the story and have heard the Melvin's version.

  • Damn I really can't decide which version I like more anymore.

  • 1984? Way ahead of the times. I was 13. Amazing music.

  • @carpoman Ask seattlealex down there in the comments, he's the drummer.

  • fuck, that's good. i wonder who thought in 1984 how big this stuff was going to eventually get.
