SANTA MONICA, Calif.—Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer discounts any anti-incumbent sentiment in the tough race to retain her seat because of her long track record of fighting for California's environment and economy.
Boxer said Saturday at a campaign event on Santa Monica Beach that she will continue her advocacy against oil drilling off the coast of California, calling the environment a "God-given legacy."
Boxer's lead in the race against GOP newcomer Carly Fiorina has shrunk in recent months, but the senator says if California voters turn out on Election Day, she'll win.
Boxer was joined at the event by Santa Monica Mayor Bobby Shriver and actors Hector Elizondo, Valerie Harper, Dennis Haysbert and Melissa Fitxgerald.

Yesterday, I went to the polls to make sure 'my voice was heard' ..... guess what? IT WAS!!! It's a good day to be a Californian!! Not that everyday isn't a good day .. this just happens to be a really good day!!!
