this one is a trickier opening than it seems. the first time your pinky hits the "a" in the intro should be on a down beat. sounds like you're playing it on an upbeat. you've somehow rounded out the beat to fit squarely into 4/4 (which is awesome), but i think you might be hearing the pattern one 1/8 note off. listen to terence trent d'arby band do it. there's a great vid where the sax player takes this intro. he's marching his feet along with the groove. it isn't where we think it is
