The answer to a question that I get asked all the time. Here are my thoughts on the matter. But don't take my word for it; go try it yourself and make your own decision!

  • hey himynameisjayme, what kind of bass is Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers use? THe kind of sound it makes it blowing my mind.

  • @Zelcibot He's played a lot of basses throughout the years; he was always noted for using a Stingray in the early years, and a Modulus too. For Stadium Arcadium I know he used a 60's Jazz, but now I think he uses his own line of basses called FleaBass. Cheers!

  • You can find a used Fender Jaguar Bass for about $500. Very cool look for the Indie scene, basically the sound of a jazz bass, passive and active modes.

  • Thanks, I'm going to get a passive 4 string first because of the style of music I'm working on right now

  • What about 5-string basses tuned to E-A-D-G-C? A lot of players use those for versatility, especially soloists.

  • i listened to this whole video and now i wanna touch your butt

  • can i touch your butt?
