You are listening to a multitrack recording by MrOrganmoods.
It contains the following songs: A Foggy Day / Killing Me Softly With His Song / East Of The Sun

Instruments used:
- Yamaha DGX-200 home keyboard (drums, bass, piano, strings & guitar)
- Hammond T-422 tonewheel organ (all organ sounds)

First I recorded drums & bass in MIDI-environment. Then I played the organ parts and added strings, piano and some guitar chords.

Inspired by Klaus Wunderlich, a great organist and multi-instrumentalist from the 20st century.

  • Wow, that T sure has a very wide range of sounds. How are you getting the good overdrive on that fast Leslie? Is it the internal Leslie on the organ? Actually, does a T-422 have a Leslie?? It being transistor it seems like it wouldn't have that kind of break up. I'm going to pick up a mystery Hammond on Tuesday. Based on the following info which models do you think it could be?:

    - cost $5,000 new

    -2 sets of draw bars

    - Banjo

    - from 70's

    - smaller,13 pedals

  • @paulj0557

What you hear is not a Leslie. It's the internal scanner vibrato of the organ, in "celeste" mode. The T-422 has a leslie, but with the scanner vibrato on celeste you've a much more powerfull sound. That's why I am totally crazy in love with the T-series: the wonderful vibrato's.

I think the organ you're going to pick up is definitely a T-series. All T-models have two sets of drawbars, 13 pedals and a Banjo-percussion tab, so I don't know much more to say about it.

    Groetjes,

    Hans

  • Very nice indeed. Does your Ace-Tone still work? Gary

  • @HD7100 The Ace-Tone still works. When I'm in a nostalgic mood, I still use that old machine ;-). Thanks for your comments!
