TAB AVAILABLE, READ ON...This is my variation on the famous Dark Side of the Moon conclusion. I've gone Dropped D tuning so the bassline is a bit more like the studio recording than the "normal" acoustic version. In fact, I tried to play it getting more of the studio recording sound throughout. I hope I don't offend any Floyd fans, I know we tend to be a passionate lot.

Eclipse is quick'n'dirty, I didn't try to do anything clever with it just round the tune off. One day I might revisit it and make it feel a bit more climactic. For now, though, that's it ;)

You'll find it tricky on both the left hand and the right hand, tip - don't try to hit the D chord formation in one go, lay down only the F# then lay down the D and A on the next beat; you don't need them until them. Watch how I do it if that didn't make any sense. And yes, it is hard to play cleanly, I still can't ;)

Enjoy,
JAW

  • Question do you use your little finger?

  • @A13om13 Left hand - yes, right hand - no :)

  • Amazing. I have been working on this piece for about a month now and have braindamage sounding pretty good. Thank you for the tabs all my freinds love to hear this amazing tune now i just have to work up the corage to do another one of your arragements thinking about brethe.

  • Cool, glad it is working out for you! I've changed it a bit to bring out the melody more, haven't got around to tabbing it though. I did a dodgy recording of it a few weeks back on my phone, if you want a listen head for my blog.

Breathe is a good choice - note that I've changed that a bit too :)

Work up the courage to post a video response - it's good for you!

  • One of my favorites on YT, Jaw. Thx. You said you are a Floydian from way back. Do you have any other favorites from other albums that you know well enough to post? Some of their later stuff, like "Lost for Words" has killer guitar lead ins and and would be a great solo guitar piece w/some work.

  • Thanks WotW! I think there are three types of Floydians - the Syd Barretts, the Roger Waters and the Dave Gilmours. I fall under the Roger Waters type; which means I'm mostly limited to Meddle through to The Final Cut. Although I appreciate what Dave continued to do I don't really follow it; and I was born too late to be into Syds stuff ;)

I can fumble my way through DSotM, WYWH and The Wall...but only the ones I can do well I've posted here.

Good to hear from another Floydian!

  • I just can not get rhythm down, which makes it sound bland somehow. Guess I'll keep practicing, love PF

  • need a lot of practice

  • @jawmunji thanks

  • love the chorus part

  • jawmunji, yo have done a great job on this. i am impressed!

  • Why are you making it so hard for yourself? You can use way easier versions of the chords and have it sound exactly the same, but with less mistakes. Eclipse was great though! Still have to figure that one out myself..

  • can you email me the tabs you did for this song and anybody out there? theyre different than the tabs i find

  • buena loco muy buenaa (Y)
