Obama visits slave trade castle

President Obama and his family visiting the historic Cape Coast Castle in Ghana on July 11 2009.

The seaside fortress was converted for use in the slave trade by the British in the 17th Century.

Obama was accompanied by his wife, Michelle, a descendant of African slaves, and both of his young daughters.

Slavery still exists in Africa, especially in the North and along the Horn of Africa. For example, black slavery in Ethiopia has never really been eradicated. Slavery is pure evil.
