  • You know what I find to be absolutely amazing about this interview? Roger Federer grew up speaking languages other than English, and he's a professional athlete, not a college-educated man. Yet he speaks English incredibly eloquently--better than most Americans. Really, the only deficiencies he has with English--and very minor ones at that--are with some of the colloquialisms. I suspect that Federer is a highly-intelligent guy, and if never exposed to tennis, would have excelled in anything.

  • Roger is so classy. cute :) love Roger

  • Federer is my role model for being a quality person.

  • murray never gonna be slam champion as roger hopes

  • @sasook Just seemed to lose his "touch". He became far more conservative and guys with a lot of power a la Soderling, Tsonga, and Berdych could beat him. His BH is also really a liability against the Top players and thats why he has struggled. Lost to Novak at IW, Rafa at Miami, Melzer at Monte-Carlo, Nadal at Madrid, Gasquet at Rome, made the Final of the French but faded AGAIN. Lost to Tsonga at Wimby and Montreal, smoked by Berdych at Cincy and blew another 2 set lead against Novak at NYC.

  • Roger is a legend!!

  • @masmddds

Don't forget his mother was South African, so he spoke english from a young age. But you're right, he is good with languages. He also speaks french extremely well. It does really show his intelligence. I really don't think you get to that level without being a clever guy in the first place.

Same goes for Nadal. Also an intelligent player who recently described Federer in his book as a guy naturally good at everything he does...

  • I really thought with the way he played this tournament, he was going to have another great run for the rest of the year. Then the next slam rolls around and I see he loses in the quarters for the first time in years and I was just shocked. And then it happened again at Wimby. And now he hasn't won a slam since this tournament. Like, what happened?

Bear in mind I'm one of those people who only have access to the slams because my parents don't wanna pay for tennis channel.

  • @masmddds tennis players have sooo much free time like in the airport or just sitting in their hotel room. Besides training in the morning and the afternoon they are very bored because most of the time they are resting or travelling.

  • @TheAob123 thank you ;)

  • @bassem008 oh right, learning languages is difficult, good luck to you
