  • It is wrong and discusting to claim that MLK was a republican or conservative. Just like it's wrong to say conservatives fought for or were in favor of the civil rights movement. They didn't then and they don't now.

  • @TheCaliCapitalist -Thanks for commenting some people don't know the difference between ideology and party today's Tea Baggers really think southern democrats in the 60's were liberals when they were conservatives the South has always been run by conservatives regardless of party and conservatives hated MLK more than anything

  • You obviously no nothing about American History. The Democrat Party has always been the party of social ills and started by the Racist Andrew Jackson. The party of racism, Jim Crow, slavery, segregation, the KKK, homosexuality, militant anti-Christian secularism, abortion, socialism, and racial supremesy. MLK did not support any of those things. You accept the lie of Democrats who wash their history to get black votes while keeping them down ,in the Democrat plantation, victimized in poverty.

  • @2704443 -You're using the same Right Wing Talking Points you can't compare today's Northern Democrats with the Southern Conservative Dems from 60 years ago. There's a difference between ideology and party Northern Dems were Liberal and Southern Dems were Conservative Dixiecrats

Northern Democrats like Truman had a completely different ideology than Southern Conservative Democrats like Strom Thurmond who ran against Truman in the 1948 election

    screw history, ask his family...

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote in his autobiography:

"The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism."

That was his description of the 1964 Republican National Convention. He also referred to the Republican convention as "the frenzied wedding at the Cow Palace of the KKK with the radical right."

  • @BeulahLips Robert Byrd is dead and gone and he stopped being part of Klan 60 years ago David Duke is alive and well and he endorses the Tea Party and Republicans

Martin Luther King Jr was a Liberal Progressive he supported Unions he supported the Liberal Naacp but Dr.King never belonged to any party today's Right Wing Conservatives keep trying to claim MLK when King was alive Conservatives called King a Communist Socialist and now your trying to claim him you must be a gullible Glenn Beck Fan
