Dr. Michael Doyle speaks about the medical aspects involved in the process of gay men becoming parents through surrogacy and egg donation. He discusses the advanced state of the medical technology that provides high success rates and multiple choices to prospective parents. Informed by the medical team parents can assert control over the process that involved synchronized efforts of several parties. Dr. Doyle described how donors are screened and matched with parents to fit their long term goals; how embryos are created through IVF, grown and selected to reduce risks and increase success rates; and how carrier are medically screened by clinics and reviewed for legal and psych-social aspects by agencies.

Dr. Doyle presentation was part of the seventh annual "Men Having Babies" seminar on October 2, 2011, at Center Families of the LGBT Center in New York City. Check this channel for several more clips from this event.
The seminar included three parts: an overview of the surrogacy and egg donation process by a panel of legal and medical experts; short presentations by agencies and organizations who provide services and support for gay men who want to have babies; and personal stories from NY gay parents, two surrogates and an egg donor.
