With only two more shows to go, Alan has come to peace with life & love. Watching this show for over 30yrs, rushing home many days to catch a few mins - 3pm was always the time to go to Springfield.

  • I'm a 40 year old man. I remember watching this show with my mother and grandmother during the summer.

I thought that Allen and Roger were the coolest villans onTV.

Well, Mom and Grandmom are gone now. I watched the last episode today. Brought back a lot of memories from a simpler time.

My mom would have liked that Josh and Reeva are FINALLY together. She also would have liked that Allen redeemed himself. in the end.

At least there can be happy endings in Springfield.

  • I have to agree with you on this...Chris Bernau was the penultimate Alan Spaulding....he is by far with maybe the exception of JR Ewing & Roger Thorpe my all-time favorite soap villain

  • with GL countering General Hospital, it's bound to lose. not that GL is bad, but since both soaps are long running, the viewers must have been really faithful. think about it, GH's 1983 Luke and Laura brought in 30 mil viewers. obviously GH gets the priority at 3pm every weekday.

  • the original alan was da man!!!!!! R.I.P.

  • @vegasman437 OMG, did you nail the lid on the coffin or what? Now I don't have to!

  • Guiding Light was one of My favorites until Ellen Wheeler took over the reigns. She single handly destroyed the show. It was unwatchable and beyond ridiculous by the time CBS pulled the plug

  • My mom was a GH fan, my grandmother a GL fan. So I grew up watching both. Go figure. Nanny died years ago, but she followed GL every day, and had since it was on the radio. I hadn't watched in years, but when I heard it was to be cancelled, I began watching again. To Guilding Light and all the families of Springfield, thanks for the lifetimes of joy you brought to us.

  • @VanityGoneInsane i missed it because i could not figure out how to tape it. I came home from work to watch and i had someone taped someother show i neverwatch. I agree with MansonFreak555 there are other stupd soaps they could have cut instead of this one. makes me sad. I too watched this show since i was very young. recent years i would watch it now and again. My favorite years were the Beth, Phillip, Rick and Mindy years. When they were friends with the orginal cast (the other beth)

  • could anyone tell what this song is playing in the background?

  • the original alan was the best, but the character was THE BEST VILLIAN IN TV.period.

  • i use to watch this with my drandmother when i was 5 a year before she died got into it kinda forgot about it and didnt get home from school till after it was over so when i got older started watching it again i was so sad when it went off i am now 20 i was just getting really into it so sad it went away wish they could of cut some other stupid soap off the air instead of that one
