Shows where the Golden Forest track originates.

I also show where the track title originates, despite it being so obvious. (I've showed the origin of every single track title so far, so I'm just trying to be consistent.)

I captured 1080° Snowboarding from from my Wii's Virtual Console and I played it with a Gamecube controller. I never played the original on Nintendo 64, so I don't know how difficult it is on its native console, but... This game is harder than hell when playing it for the first time using the Gamecube controller!

One tactic I had learned was that when racing against a CPU, it's easier to win the race if you crash into them. But this CPU ran into me twice in a row after I did that. It worked in all of the other races I didn't capture. -__-

Also, I had managed to land on ice before when I was practicing, but not this time.

One interesting thing about 1080° Snowboarding that I noticed is that the timer is not accurate. A race that took 1' 43" according to the in-game timer actually took about 2' 14". :-/ I had initially edited the music according to the in-game timer, so you can image my surprise when it didn't turn out correctly. And it's not the Virtual Console's emulation either. See:

(1'20" actually takes about 1'36".)

  • Don't think I've only been working on this video the whole time. I've played both versions of Twilight Princess and have a lot, if not all, of the necessary footage. Link's Moves isn't too far away.

  • Best soundtrack of the game, and the best track too.

  • It is still pretty hard on the 64 with its original controller. The trick is watching the angle of your board when landing on odd surfaces and staying on flat ground as much as possible. Trying to hit shortcuts will screw you up badly if you don't do them perfectly. :\

It was a great game though. My favorite track was the end credits music on the highest difficulty.

  • Love jammin' to this tune, perfect victory music for those 100,000 point combos!

  • I grew up with this game... and thus with this music.

I loved this one the most. Cue Brawl and me squeeling when I unlocked this song in it.

  • This also plays in the Deadly Fall stage. Unless there's a slight difference.

  • I know it's impossible, but it would be funny to see a character like Kensuke Kimachi in a Smash Bros.

I'd love to see him fighting with his snowboard. ;D

  • It's not just the game controller, this game is just hard as hell to play. Big jumps are especially bad. The halfpipe event is okay for tricks but and vertical drop is just near impossible to land correctly.

  • They really should have made a new version of it instead of keeping it so similar to the original.

  • I've heard the classic controller is easier for these type of games than the gamecube controller.

  • Golden Forest would make a great stage for Super Smash Brothers doing it in a similar way to Port town Aero Dive. Think something like a broken chair lift platform sliding down the mountainside.
