@JMTulip i don't think he is trying to critique anything, but rather to give a very brief overview of history - remember, history is told from a point of view, no one gets it right from everyone else's viewpoints

@ChannelingusLLC Eat a dick you faggy capitalist.

If you think about it, under communism you have a plethora of monopolies operating, they are government run monopolies (like FEMA which is vastly slower than a private insurance company when a disaster hits). As a monopoly, you get less than what you pay for and they are highly inefficient since those who run the monopolies don't have to worry about competition, their jobs are secure and they can slack.

Communism sounds good, but when put in to action it turns to shit!

@Oneofyou1412 You realize that those in the 65% are mostly from totalitarian and communist govts?

Going to attempt just that now that i've seen this, could take like, a fortnight or something to put together though since it'll be a first XD. Love Khan Academy for its science and maths, but coupling that with a carte blanche acceptance of capitalist perspectives is kind of worrying.
Probably will use similar manner, just get the definitions and comparisons correct and verifiable from the defining sources, and avoid POV jabs, but we'll see.
So many books to review o _o

@falubii That doesn't necessarily mean he is an expert at Economics or Marxist thought for that matter.

@JMTulip Khan has a masters in business from Harvard, I'm sticking with his thoughts.
This is a horrendous misrepresentation of Marx's thought, and not just because Khan clearly disagrees with his ideas. He clearly doesn't understand them either. I seriously doubt he has even read something like the Manifesto, nevermind Capital. If you're going to purport critique a political philosophy, you should at least understand it. Terrible.

I think that the american attitude towards "Money and power through hard work and education" is the reason why the western civilization doesnt believe in communism. But way too often, you forget that education and hard work never have been the recipe for "success" (A communist wouldnt say that to a way too unnecessary amount of material goods). Look at the worlds population: 1% being rich, 65% having no supplies or clean water. Time to understand that belonging to the 1% is very unlikely.
