Sally Lundburg is an artist, photographer and filmmaker from Hamakua, Big Island, Hawaii, who is fascinated with many tools and techniques available to tell a story. She often uses "found" imagery, collected at garage sales and in the trash; however in "Closer to Home," she combines her own photographs with images and text culled from the collections of her extended families. The finished pieces often employ a variety of materials including raw wood, rescued paper, paint, epoxy resin and images printed on silk and orthographic film. Winner of le Prix de l'Aileron du Meilleur Film de Surf 2007 ( Int. Surf Film Festival du St. Jean de Luz, France), Lundburg and her husband Keith have founded a creative arts and film studio on Hawaii's Big Island called Mahi'ai Creative.
