Yeah that was fixed with the slim, it breaths from the top vent now (When standing vertically). I'm an Xbox user myself, I got both old and new and neither have failed ever.

holy crap thats way different now, i took the ps3 fat completely apart to get the dust out took me forever. i wonder if the slim cools better

@ToRReZ53 horizontal, it keeps the air vents open for a cooler system and its designed to stay horizontal. but it wouldnt be a big deal to put it vertical, unlike the 360 where mainly those who get the RROD put their 360 vertically blocking the main vent.
