Somawathi Dagoba of Polonnruwa 1.MOV

Somawathi Dagoba has been built in the name of Mahanaga in the temple monastery of Paschima Nagarama. The right side tootth relic of Lord Buddha which has been originallydonated by Reverent Mahinda to princess Somewathi, the sister of king Kawanthissa and Abhaya nephew of king Shiva of Kelaniya in the 2nd century B.C.

According the description of the archaeologists,this Dagoba has been built into a special structure.
There is a supportive wall constructed around the Dagoba 1000 yards from the East and 600 yards from the West to form a huge courtyard which consist 4 entrances from side and 13 guard temples one of them includes temple with a pentagonal statues and 60 monasterial houses for thr priest.
