Linda Lee is pretty hammered by her severe Alzheimer's. Linda started weekly Enbrel injections in her neck in April 2008. In December her caregiver, me, began giving her the injections. Another stick in the Jenga pile, and way easier to deal with as a homecare issue.

  • Is it having an effect on her as it was in the earlier videos?

  • Linda has lost more of her abilities since the April 200 videos. The erosion is slow... but little things are suddenly so "where did that go?" when you discover their absence. My main issue now is that she is forgetting how stairs should be climbed. That surely slows things down and I often find myself propping her with one hand while guiding her feet. Left... right... left... right.

I truly try not to think too far in the future.

  • But yes... I do see a twinkle in her eyes after the injection, and she smiled and laughed after a spell of blankness. Whatever it is doing it is beneficial to her attitude and I like to see her smile.

  • It's relieving to know there's still good, unselfish people out there :) God Bless you and your beautiful wife!

  • That's sweet of you to be so dedicated to her. You really do love her (and I know she really does love you). God bless you all, and my prayers be with you!

  • gee,,,,,she looks too young to have alzheimers

He put it on youtube so that others know that there may be some help for Alzheimer's. Linda is in the advanced stage, but if someone gets the treatment in an earlier stage, it will keep them from declining as it has done for many people.

  • poor women, god bless her

  • Why are you putting this on youtube?

  • Thanks for sharing...you are trying everything you can to keep her alive and going. I wish I had someone like you in my corner when I get sick--possibly with this diease...God bless you for being there for her!! I know it is hard work--and can be exhausting and thanks for keeping us posted--our prayers are with you.

  • I've watched all your videos with your wife and I gotta tell you that you are a saint! God Bless you! I work in an assisted living home and care for people with all stages of Alzheimer's and so many people admit their spouses there as well as similar places just because it's inconvienent to care for them. Most of the residents only get a visit from their spouse once a week and they give the excuse that they "can't stand to see him/her like that". It sickens me!
