I've always thought this version (used in the film) was much better than the Maureen Mcgovern one, which was the radio hit. For years I thought it was Carol Lynley doing the singing though (haha)!

First introduced to this song in the movie KUNG POW. A must see movie.
The bad guy's name is Betty.

People were saying The Poseidon Adventure was unrealistic.
But since January, we know that it was only realistic by 90°.

I saw this film in India in 1974, two years later it was released in USA. In those days we were able to see famous hollywood films with such long gap. The film was haunting me for a few days later. Several years later, we all saw the same magic on screen 'TITANIC'. I could not remember the The Morning After, but, now I try to watch on You Tube. Thanks to the Uploader and youtube for such enchanting lyrics and purely pearl like voice of the singing artist.

I really enjoy reading all the comments and more when this song means so much for a lot of people so lets give thanks to the people who really deserve: PAUL GALICO, for writing the novel; IRWIN ALLEN, for creating the movie project; AL KASHA and JOEL HIRSCHHORN for writing the beatiful music and lyrics; RENÉE ARMAND for the magnificient performance; and even CAROL LINLEY for giving a face to the voice, and MAUREEN McGOVERN for making THE MORNING AFTER even more succesful. And thank U ALL.

Thanks (gracias) To all of you who have made a comment about these wonderful song and singer.
It's really one the greatest lost wonders of 70's music.

Holy cow, I never knew that Maureen McGoverns recording was not the one used in the movie. I saw part of the film and never noticed it was a different singer.
