Sarah Rasmussen - 15 plays the Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. The Accompanist is her teacher, Joyce Berg, from Berg Studios in Parkville, MO. This is their best public performance of Rhapsody in Blue so far. This was part of the Benefit Concert--June 24, 2011; held at Barry Christian Church in Kansas City, MO--for the Vineyard Church Youth Chicago Inner City Mission Trip. Apologies if the sound and video is not quite in sync.

  • @Undercoverfire absolutely I have. I understand there are tempo changes. You can plainly see, however, that one is moving at the speed of light and one is moving at the speed of sound. Impressively they make it work, but at least for me it felt like it took each a lot of effort to find common ground there.

  • @ryandemont Have you heard this piece before? It has a lot of tempo changes...

  • Wow. Was this an exercise meant to help two completely different musical dispositions find common ground? Homegirl reading the sheet music would take 20 minutes to play this piece if she had it her way, while memory girl would have it wrapped up in just under 5 if she had hers. Did they just meet that day?

  • Bravo!
