@LovesToSpooge77 :) we make our choices and we stick by them :) only a few have the skill for close combat or bare hand arts and others have a skill for weapons or long range. I am just glad that we all share the passion for martial arts, whichever they might be.

@crcardillo In kendo, 8th dan is the highest grade attainable by grading. 9th dan is now an honorary grade awarded to leaders of their generation, and people with this rank are considered "national treasures" in Japan. 10th dan is considered un-obtainable without actual live combat experience / contributing to the theory of kendo, which is of course out of the question today!

The maximum dan for nearly all martial arts is 8th Dan, however if the suitable training period is correct 9th Dan is awarded posthumously. I'm personally about to grade for my 1st Dan in Shotokan karate with ESKA, a training group based in the UK around East Anglia, can't wait to be able to say I'm a black belt =)

@ponpokopee that is just a generalisation. very few koreans say that. i'm korean, and no one i know tells me kendo and jesus originate in korea. its a small number of liars who claim that. whats wrong with translating it to korean? it was obviously a documentary shown in korea.

@z06k I believe the person training with him was an 8th dan (hachidan) - so I was told. I am not sure though. If anyone knows please feel free to correct me.

I'm sorry - Karou777 is mistaken. There are many 10th dans in the world in various arts. Perhaps he means in Kendo only...I don't know.

@bicnarok there is no test because there are no more 10th dans. That's why this video is about the last 10th dan person in earth.
