pseudo-intellectuals? lol whether you agree with every bit of what they're saying or just some of it, or even none of it... these men are intelligent and dedicate large amounts of time to promoting the discussion of these ideas and do it in a scientific way. They are great intellectuals

continued) the reason for me that atheism does a better job at morality than religion is the whole thing with personal responsibility and accepting that your actions are your own without being able to opt out with the excuse that it was "god's will"

"where does morality come from?" question "why do we not just grab everything for ourselves and just go hide somewhere with a hoard?"question way to get answers? finding out if someone else has an answer that meets all available information. finding the answer that meets all evidence available= sciene. a simple process of observation can show that every group has it's own rules that lead to the survival of most members the behavior that leads to the survival of most members(more)

I will watch this tomorrow, it seems quite interesting.

I am an Agnostic Atheist, Science has no morality, and has no saying in it.

When the pressure raises in a bullet chamber, and the metallic object rushes to someone, it does not asks itself if its ok. That's pure science. Morality should come from man to the man, we don't need higher beings to tell us what to do,

I will watch this video tomorrow, its late and I dont think ill listen to it carefully.

I'm not so optimistic about science answering moral questions... the reason I think atheism deals with morals better than religion is because while both have no clue what's right or wrong, atheism encourages people to think about it more. Whether thinking will help, I don't know, but it somehow seems wise.

Also, while in theory some knowledge could be bad, in reality for some reason, every time we believe some knowledge is bad, it's actually our lack of knowledge forcing us to believe some relig

resignator, you appear overcome by the exuberance of your own verbosity. Now, this could be a natural phenomenon of your mind, but ought should be made of is or perceived consciousness cannot be conceived - ya think?

Perhaps, I am misunderstanding but how can any conscious being conceive of "ought" without perception? In order to make the statement, "Truth ought to matter" a being must first experience true/false through some sense.

Mind is a natural phenomenon. "Ought" can only be constructed by the "is". Ought cannot precede is based on these grounds.

I thought that too. ¿Why is my decision not my decision simply because I made it before being aware of it? I suppose I'll have to read his book to see if it's as nonsensical as it seems.
