Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is proposing a constitutional amendment that would cap government spending to the prior budget period's income level. DFL Senate Majority leader Larry Pogemiller and Sen. Tom Bakk say they are willing to listen, but critical of the Governor for being unable to achieve balanced budgets under the existing system.**http://the-uptake.groups.theuptake.org/en/videogalleryView/id/2556/

  • Right, this general idea sounds interesting, if we can make sure we have the details right. I find the timing intriguing, but we may be better off with it, so why dismiss it based on that?

  • cant wait till he starts his failing presidential run so we can get a new governor

  • It's about time Government Spending is kept in check a little better. Some of these guys think they have and endless piggy bank to take from (you and me). And my God, it's so typical for the man at the end of the video to make it into a "bill as he goes out the door" type of situation instead of looking at it for what it is. I think this came to be after several cuts had to be made after unchecked spending. It's no wonder something like this would be brought to the surface now...
