This video explains the mechanisms in my kinetic glass sculpture, "Hair Saloon." The video was shot after I had worked out the mechanism in schematic form, but before adding most of the color and other decorative elements. Good info for those who would like to try kinetic glass sculpture. The bearings are either cut sections of teflon tubing, or standard industrial bearings (molybdenum-disulfide impregnated nylon, usually). I put grooves in the glass rods and O-rings (EPDM rubber is better than Buna-N) snap into the grooves to hold the bearings in place. Enjoy!
