  • Clearly top 5. There were so many boring songs that year and this one stood out by being original. The jurors just couldn't have fun, I guess.

  • Which songs do you find boring? Personally, I think 1977 was a very strong year, so I'm not sure I agree with you. As for this, it is indeed an original and funny song (you should find a translation of the lyrics - they're quite poignant), but the way too silly stage act was its undoing, IMO. You see, funny/kitchy/campy acts in ESC are a tricky thing - if you go too much over the top, you run a serious risk of crash landing (as Ukraine learnt this year).

  • Awesome song. Definitely one of the best Austrian ESC performances ever.

  • I have the song on cd and believe me u hum along to it as u drive. Its not a bad song. It has a strong message which is lost in translation. And the outfits are shit too!

  • Clever stuff, but people were either too daft to realise - or were uncomfortable, after all, the jury members were the people they were having a go at!

  • @klarinetta 1969? I think you mean 1968, as Austria didn't (want to) send a singer to Spain (which was, at the time, ruled by Franco).

  • Schau an . da junge Dr. Ostbahn! Fesch

  • Mmmm. Can't imagine why this didn't win....

  • After reading the translation of the lyrics, this is most fascinating! Original indeed!

  • Meiii, a junga Ostbahn-Kurti ...

  • very funny. a true classic. i would say top 3!

  • Top tune.

  • One of the top entries of all times in the ESC. The lyrics are good and the chorus - it's just so beautiful!

  • One of the best performances ever, yet it came second from last. I don't think they got many votes from Sweden - remember Abba's "Bang-A-Boomerang"?
