I am having similar symptoms. Quick question though. Did you try quick-fix osmotic laxatives like magnesium citrate? If so, were you able to pass liquid, or was that obstructed too? I am able to pass liquids just fine, but I'm having a really bad abdominal pain + tenderness in the upper abdomen just above stomach, when I eat + several hours later.
Before your first surgery were you able to move and walk around, or were you in so much discomfort you didn't want to move?

Your doctor was an ass. Excuse my language. But he was very rude. You shouldn't of been told it was your fault for not getting it checked out. The same symptoms can be of many different diagnosis and its not your job to figure out what's wrong with you. But I hope your feeling better and im sorry you had to go through that.

I had bowel obstruction a few years ago. It was the worst pain that I have ever felt in my entire life. I wanted to die because it hurt so much. I got it due from a previous surgery. Good thing I didn't need surgery for IBS. I've had my spleen removed, kidney transplant, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, arthritis, dialysis and the pain cannot be compared with the pain of having bowel obstruction.

I had done this surgery 9 times (laparatomy). Thanks god, I'm still alive. But now, i still under treatment by specialist of pain management for chronic pain. I have to take 6 pills of painkiller (morphine) in 3 times a day. The severe pain is so terrible. You cannot imagine how pain it was. My doctor said that i might undergo this same surgery in the future.

To everyone, I apologize for cursing and calling melitriocancan's doctor an ass. I didn't mean to offend anyone. The man is what he is like it or not. Melitrio you post came at a time when I needed to vent over a similar experience that nearly cost me my life because of a my surgeons greed. Again, I am sorry for cursing. :)

i'm so sorry to hear about your experience. i'm glad you're still here with us. and please don't apologize. i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, my dad called him that too lol. to each his own i guess. some people just have way to much authority and use that to their advantage, therefore they think they can treat people how ever they please... we just have to take what they say with a grain of salt.
